Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is an organization of civilian and military engineers who are dedicated to advancing the knowledge of Military engineering and to increasing the engineering potential of the country in support of national defense was founded in 1920. The Atlanta Post of SAME is quite active and has provided funds for scholarships each year since 1978. This is the seventh year that eight scholarships are being given by SAME. The Frank D. Parker Georgia Tech Scholarship is given in memory of a long-time member of SAME and past GEF President. The Larry Jones Southern Polytechnic State University Scholarship is given in memory of Mr. Larry Jones who served the Atlanta Post for many years as Secretary.
