REMICH AND ASSOCIATES

Mr. James N. Remich, P.E. graduated from Purdue University in 1968 with BS Degree in Electrical Engineering.  After graduation, he started working with Westinghouse Electric Company, Engineering Service in Milwaukee, WI.  In 1972, he had his first overseas assignment of nearly 40 countries.  In 1987, he joined Brown Boveri Electric Company as Southeast Region Sales Manager for Protective Relays.  Brown Boveri later merged with Asea and then Westinghouse Electric (26) Utility Divisions to become the Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) Company.  This series of mergers allowed Jim to offer products of “every type of protective relay” to his customers in the SE region.  Jim joined Bombardier Transportation (the People Mover) from 1992 to 2004.  In 2004, he joined the Engineering firm for MARTA projects and stayed with the Breeze Card project which was tasked to get power and communication to all the MARTA fare gates and the vending machines.  Jim has recently retired from MARTA.

Jim truly has a passion for helping and mentoring others, and his past and current volunteer roles have been as impressive as his professional career.  Jim continues to have Board and Committee involvement with Georgia Society of Professional Engineers, Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers, Georgia Engineering Foundation, and the Exploring Engineering Academy.  Jim had also served on the Board of the North Georgia Emmaus King Retreat.  Additionally, Jim still finds time to continue his 25 years of service as a Sunday school teacher at the United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, GA.
