Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is an international organization of over 415,000 members in fields related to electrical and electronics engineering (including nearly 90,000 students) in more than 160 countries. IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology and telecommunications to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics, among others. The IEEE produces 30% of the world’s published literature in electrical engineering, computers and control technology, holds more than 900 major conferences annually and has nearly 900 active standards with 400 under development. IEEE Atlanta section serves 4500 members and 900 students in the northern half of Georgia. The funds for all four annual scholarships are provided by the Atlanta Section of IEEE.
