To whom it may concern, I would like to recommend Landon King for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. I have known Landon for five years, first as his coach and teacher, and now as his mentor. Throughout the years I've known him, Landon has shown time and time again his commitment to excellence. When he sets a goal for himself, he's a hard charger, never settling until he's accomplished that goal. His dedication to his academics is second to none. I've never seen anyone strive so much (not for a grade) to learn the little nuances of all concepts he's learning. Lastly, the most endearing quality about Landon is his integrity. When he makes mistakes, Landon owns up to them. He never tries to pass the blame onto anyone else. He's a leader that leads from the front. Landon also has a extremely witty side that easily draws people in. His ability to calm a storm with humor make him a delight to be around. I can't think of any student in my past that I would go to when I have a student that needs mentored. Landon is the true embodiment of what we want to see in young people today.
