Ladies and Gentlemen: I have had the extreme pleasure to teach and direct Jordan Troup for several years at Davidson Fine Arts School in Augusta, Georgia while she was a student here for her secondary education. Jordan was a member of my Advanced Acting class, which is the top performance theatre class at our school. This class is made up of my very best theatre students and admission is granted solely through the audition process. Jordan was incredible in the classroom, and her leadership skills were demonstrated daily. She was well-respected and well-liked by her peers. She is smart, creative, and an absolute joy to work with. She is always prepared, always meets deadlines, and always listens carefully to instructions or direction. She is extremely motivated to succeed but doesn’t walk over people to get what she wants. She is kind and thoughtful. She is perceptive to the world around her and can analyze people and situations with maturity. Jordan is also an outstanding actress. It is truly delightful to direct Jordan in a show. She is always focused from the very beginning to the very end of each rehearsal. She is imaginative and inventive, making intelligent choices onstage. She has a fantastic sense of humor. She takes criticism well and pushes herself to incorporate every directorial note. Jordan has appeared in many shows under my direction as part of our very active and award-winning Theatre department. Most recently, she played Maria’s ditzy friend, ‘Rosalia’ in 'West Side Story'. Jordan’s singing voice is stellar, and her acting is honest and believable. Last fall, Jordan played ‘Ida Rhinegold’ the sexy vamp in 'Dirty Work at the Crossroads', competing in Region and State AA One-Act Play Competition where she was selected as an ‘All-Star Cast’ member. During her junior year, Jordan appeared in 'The Tempest', our impressive outdoor production which featured a full orchestra and originally composed music, and our state award-winning production of 'A Wrinkle in Time'. As a sophomore, Jordan appeared in 'Footloose' and was able to demonstrate her innumerable talents in our fun spring musical. Jordan is always professional in class, rehearsals and performances and served as a role model to her peers. She is a team player and constantly helped to smooth over disagreements amongst some cast members. Jordan always goes over and beyond what she is asked to do, exceeding expectations in every way. She is an excellent organizer and works well with everyone! She is dedicated and one of the most hard-working young women you will ever meet! Jordan is truly exceptional in so many areas. I cannot say enough about her friendly, considerate and compassionate personality. And I think Jordan is especially qualified for your scholarship, with the incredible mix of creativity and academic achievement she possesses. Please give her careful consideration for this scholarship. I am very pleased to give my highest recommendation for this wonderful young woman! Sincerely, Elizabeth N.
