Roland R Joseph (rjoseph6443@gmail.com)

To whom it may concern, I am Roland R Joseph and submitting a letter of recommendation for Franckel Compere to receive a Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarship. I grew up in Georgia and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1997 with an engineering degree (BSEE). I am currently employed with Procter & Gamble (23 years) working as an Electrical Engineer in the Corporate Engineering organization in the Cincinnati, OH area. I first want to personally thank GEF for its commitment to financially supporting young, aspiring minds in the STEM fields over the past 49 years. No doubt, your contributions have enabled possibilities and opened doors for those that need a hand up. I believe that Franckel could be and should a recipient of a scholarship. Franckel is intelligent, exhibits technical curiosity, is exceptionally personable and is in need of financial assistance to enable him to continue pursing his degree in the field of Mechatronics at Kennesaw State. This advanced technology area has widespread use at P&G and other manufacturing companies. Gaining a degree in this field would equip Franckel with highly marketable skills, and being a minority, would also help diversify a discipline with a history of under-representation of marginalized groups. Franckel is the kindest and most thoughtful young man that I know. Our society needs more people like Franckel and we need to empower him to be the role model his community needs. Franckel is also a well-rounded and balanced individual. HIs technical mind is complemented with a creative spark as is demonstrated in his musical interests in string instruments. Although highly logical and disciplined, he is also compassionate and caring. Being the oldest of 4 children, Franckel had to become the man of the house at an early age. It has been inspiring to see him take on these extra responsibilities while maintaining focus on his education and ambitions. In summary, Franckel is well deserving of this scholarship and he has the dedication and drive to reach his goals with a help up from GEF. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you would like discuss further (rjoseph6443@gmail.com). Thanks you and God Bless!! -Roland R Joseph, BSEE
