Lin Li (lli19@kennesaw.edu)

Dear Sir or Madam: It is my great pleasure to write this nomination letter to support Nicolai Sison’s application for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. Nicolai is a third-year Systems Engineering student at Kennesaw State University. He was in my ‘ISYE3400: Engineering Optimization- Deterministic Models’ in Spring 2020. I enjoyed having Nicolai in my class. He is definitely one of the top students in both classes. Throughout the semesters, he works hard and consistently delivers high-quality work which earns him A in the courses. Nicolai is also very responsible and helpful, which makes her a great team player as well! In preparation for graduate school, Nicolai is working with me on an undergraduate research project this semester. The project explores data-driven approaches to help companies in the travel industry come up with better demand forecasts during pandemic disruptions. He plans to submit his findings in a peer-reviewed journal paper while he is still an undergraduate student. Nicolai has demonstrated excellence in all that he puts his mind to. I therefore strongly support his application for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship! Please contact me at lli19@kennesaw.edu or at 470-578-2344 if you have any questions. Respectfully yours, Lin Li, Ph.D. Assistant Professor Dept. of Industrial and Systems Engineering Kennesaw State University
