Joshua Cooke (joshua.cooke@uga.edu)

Dear Selection Committee, It is my great pleasure to recommend Trevor Houghton for the Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarship. I have had the pleasure of working with Trevor for the last two years as his Academic Advisor and during this time I have found him to be one of the most well rounded and talented students that I have ever come across. Trevor has been passionate about taking an active role within the College of Engineering and campus community as a whole since day one. He quickly acclimated himself to UGA, joining the Student Aerospace Initiative (SAI), where he has presided as Co-President and Logistics Advisor for the executive board. Important qualities that have always impressed me about Trevor include his self-motivation and focus. During 2019 he played a pivotal role for SAI in their impressive run as one of the five national finalists in the Bayer Alka-Rocket Challenge at the Kennedy Space Center. Trevor’s ability to lead and infectious personality puts him in position to be an immediate contributor to any team. As a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Trevor has achieved a 3.51 GPA and an ability to make an impact both inside and outside the classroom, uniquely positioned to excel and be one of the key leaders for the College of Engineering moving forward. Trevor is a determined, outgoing, driven individual who is always pleasant to work with in our academic advising appointments. I am excited to see his continued progression at UGA and would be more than happy to provide any additional information. I strongly recommend him for this scholarship. Sincerely, Joshua Cooke Academic Advisor
