September 9, 2020 To Whom It May Concern: Nathan Nobles is an outstanding and courteous individual. When teachers think of the qualities they would like to have in their students’ things such as diligence, perseverance, fortitude, pleasantness, and politeness come to mind. Nathan possesses all of these characteristics and more. He is a model student and a model citizen. He is also caring, respectful, and a hard–worker. I have had the pleasure of teaching Nathan for two years. In eleventh grade, I taught him Accelerated Pre-Calculus. In twelfth grade, I taught Nathan AP Calculus AB. He performed well in both of these advanced classes (top 1% of the class) and he has demonstrated his leadership qualities on numerous occasions. In my classroom, the students work in groups or pairs on a daily basis. Throughout the years, he has demonstrated the ability to listen to others; the ability to keep his group on track; the ability to take the lead role asking questions, answering questions, and making sure everyone understands. He works hard in and out of class to achieve his goals in life. Not only does he work hard to achieve his goals, but he is also willing to help others to obtain the skills that they need to succeed in school and in life. Nathan maintained an excellent overall grade point average taking advanced placement, accelerated, and dual enrollment courses at Walnut Grove High School. Mathematically, he took all of the accelerated math courses, as well as, AP Calculus AB. Nathan is an excellent math student. He thinks outside of the box and looks for different ways to attack and solve a problem. He enjoys figuring things out for himself. He actively participates in class discussions and he willingly helps others during class and outside of class. He has an internal desire to fully understand all concepts presented in class and he is not afraid to ask questions. Nathan has also taken several other advanced placement courses and he performed well in all. He is an excellent student and he challenged himself academically with the courses that he chose to take in high school. Nathan Nobles will be an excellent recipient of the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. He is an exceptional and well-rounded young man and an outgoing leader in and out of the classroom. With his determination and work-ethic, I have no doubt that he will be successful in life and will accomplish his dreams of becoming an electrical engineer. Sincerely, Angie Head Mathematics Teacher, WGHS
