Letter of Support for Ian Kalei Vazquez-Narvaez I welcome the opportunity to recommend Ian Kalei Vazquez-Narvaez for a scholarship in Engineering. While at Effingham County High School (ECHS), Ian was a student in the Effingham County STEM program for distinguished scholars where he took a rigorous, accelerated, and condensed curriculum of honors, Advanced Placement, and dual enrollment courses with emphasis in Engineering and Spanish. Ian graduated with a 3.459 unweighted grade point average and ranked 116 in his class of 401 students. He was an active member of the Technology Student Association and Science Olympiad. He attended the Savannah Engineering Academy summer camp and maintained honor roll status. He was given the award for Most Dedicated Calculus Student in 2019 and a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Impressively, Ian balanced an aggressive course load while spending his free time in service to his community and managing part-time employment. He was an active member of his church and participated in a mission trip to Ecuador. For the past 3 years, Ian maintained a part-time job as a Construction Helper for Tirado’s Construction. Last summer, he was also a paid intern for the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge. Confident of the contribution he can make to the future, I take great pride in recommending Ian Kalei Vazquez-Narvaez for a scholarship in Engineering. Sincerely, Kate Keith, Ed. S.
