August 25, 2020 Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship RE: Nicole Salerno, North Gwinnett High School To whom it may concern, It is my privilege to recommend Nicole Salerno to be awarded the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. Nicole has been a dedicated member of the band program for all four years of high school. She has been a performer as member of the Symphonic Winds, Symphonic Band, and marching band. Her academic record places her in the top of her class in a rigorous curriculum and she has graduated with honors. Nicole is well liked by her peers and continually demonstrates the highest level of character. She has served the band program as a section leader and is very helpful to the younger members. During her time in high school, she was always well prepared and showed a high level of self-discipline in her approach to balancing a demanding academic course load with the time commitment of being a band member and student leader. Nicole managed to do this while maintaining a terrific attitude and very pleasant demeanor. I fully support Nicole’s desire to continue her education, her pursuit of a career in engineering and her application for this scholarship. I wish Nicole the very best and fully expect to hear of her accomplishments in the future. Sincerely, Rudy Gilbert Director of Bands Performing Arts Department Chair GMEA Band Division Chair, 2019-2021
