October 31, 2023 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing in recommendation of Evelyn Erickson. I have taught Evelyn for two academic years – one year of Chemistry, and she is currently in my AP Biology and Honors Physics classes. Evelyn is the kind of student that teachers love to teach. She loves learning and acquiring knowledge. She thinks deeply about the content and strives not only to learn and understand it, but also to apply it to other disciplines and life. Evelyn works hard, which is clearly reflected in her grades and transcript. Outside of the classroom, Evelyn is heavily involved in school activities. She has earned high honors for her high school career, is a member of the Beta Club and student government and has received multiple awards in Fine Arts at the State level. Outside of school, Evelyn is heavily involved in the community through work experience and community service. One of the interesting areas Evelyn has served is with one of our local adoption agencies. She worked on fundraising, helping new mothers and adoptive parents, and delivering supplies to families. This internship provided invaluable experience for her to meet and help people she might not have interacted with in her typical realm. She also has served the community through the animal shelter, local churches, and Rebuilding Macon which is an organization that helps paint homes and clean yards for the elderly or disabled in our city. Evelyn is a young woman who has chosen in her senior year to take the most challenging classes that our school offers. She is the only student in this year’s graduating class who has risen to that challenge. I have no doubt she will excel. I recommend Evelyn highly, without reservation. She would be an asset to any institution and highly deserving of scholarship. Sincerely, Amanda McGhee Department of Science
