October 30, 2023 GEORGIA ENGINEERING FOUNDATION Harris Tower, Suite 700 233 Peachtree Street Atlanta, Georgia 30303 RE: Nomination Letter for Alena Lin Dear Georgia Engineering Foundation Committee: I am writing to recommend Alena Lin for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. I met Alena during her freshman year at the University of Georgia, where she participated this past summer 2023 in the Inaugural College of Engineering Academic Boot Camp sponsored by Georgia Power. Alena Lin stands out as an exceptional student and individual who has consistently demonstrated outstanding academic abilities, leadership potential, and a commendable work ethic. As an active participant in the Academic Engineering Boot Camp, I had the opportunity to witness firsthand Alena's dedication to academic excellence and his passion for engineering. In fact, her passion for engineering led her to produce three industrial patents on Producing Black Phosphorus; albeit she is only a first semester freshman student. As you can see, a very accomplished and hardworking young woman deserving of this scholarship. During the boot camp, Alena was consistently displaying a thirst for knowledge and a remarkable ability to grasp complex engineering concepts. Her active engagement in both individual and group activities showcased not only her strong analytical skills but also their ability to work collaboratively with peers to solve real-world engineering problems. In conclusion, I have no doubt that Alena is not only a deserving candidate for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship, but also a student who has the potential to make significant contributions to the field of engineering and to our community as a whole. Her participation in the College of Engineering Academic Boot Camp sponsored by Georgia Power has been a testament to his commitment to excellence. If you require any additional information or have further questions about Alena, please do not hesitate to contact me at soniagarcia@uga.edu. I am more than willing to provide any supplementary details that may assist you in your scholarship selection process. Thank you for considering Alena Lin for this scholarship opportunity. I am confident that with your support, Alena will continue to thrive academically and make a lasting impact within the engineering community, she is well deserving of your consideration.
