To whom it may concern: Lucy Tuttle is a student I have had the pleasure to teach during her time at Richmond Hill High School. I taught her for honors American literature where she excelled individually and as a leader in the class. She is the type of student and person that makes teaching a wonderful vocation. Lucy is thoughtful, creative, hardworking, and dependable. She adds an element of fun and interest to every class with her comments, observations, and involvement. She was consistently at the top of my class and her role as a leader in class was even more impressive. I could always count on Lucy to take charge of any group assignment and would often pair her with weaker students as she was patient, helpful, and seemed to draw the best from them. Academically, she is very strong and is a fixture on the honor roll. She carries a 3.96 GPA throughout high school and has been on the honor roll for four straight years. Her transcript is an avalanche of AP and honors courses. One of the most enjoyable and memorable aspects of teaching Lucy was watching her growth during the semester. Although she entered my room as an already strong student, I saw a significant change in her during the course. She became a student who was able to challenge the status quo, respectfully, and use material from the text to back up her argument. Her writing strengthened, and I saw the same easy ability to express her views through her written work. She was able to clearly articulate her ideas, back them up with textual evidence, and rebut when challenged by me. In addition to the classroom, Lucy has been involved in many extra-curricular activities to include Beta Club, National Honor Society, Interact Club, Athlete Advisory Council, Young Republicans, TSA, Cure Club, and the Frisbee Club. She has held many offices in these clubs and her leadership skills are quite impressive. She has also been a varsity member of softball, Flag Football, and track during her time at RHHS. Her list of awards and accomplishments is equally impressive. She has been recognized with awards and distinctions as an AP High Five Award, AP Scholar with Honor, Graduation Marshall, team captain, Softball Academic Award recipient, and Most Influential Teammate. Lucy has been named to the 1st Team All Region in both flag football and softball and nominated to the Homecoming Court. Her willingness to serve the community is as impressive as her list of academics, athletics, clubs and awards. She has served as a volunteer in the community as a member of both school clubs and church associations including the Covid Vaccination Clinic, Childhood Cancer Bow Leader, and through St. Anne’s Youth Group. Somehow, she still finds the time and energy to maintain a high gpa and rank in the top percentage of her graduating class. Simply put, Lucy Tuttle is an exemplary student and an even more impressive person. Her work-ethic and volunteer spirit are clear. Lucy will no doubt succeed in any endeavor she chooses. She will be an ambassador and positive example for any organization she represents. I couldn’t possibly recommend her more. Sincerely, Christopher C. Scholar
