To Whom It May Concern: I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for Belle Brooks, who is currently a freshman biomedical engineering student at Georgia Tech, and a candidate for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. I have had the privilege of knowing Belle for several years, and I continue to be deeply impressed by her exceptional qualities and achievements. During her time at Darlington School, Belle stood out as an exemplary student and a dedicated member of our academic community. I initially had the pleasure of teaching Belle during her sophomore year in my AP Biology class (2020-2021), where she displayed an impressive level of diligence and intelligence. What has always set Belle apart from her peers is a combination of academic excellence and genuine kindness. This combination earned her the respect and admiration of both her peers and the faculty. In the classroom, Belle consistently demonstrated her outstanding abilities. Despite being the only sophomore among a group of approximately 40 juniors and seniors in my AP course, Belle managed to maintain one of the top performances. She finished that year just one percentage point behind my top student, who is also enrolled at Georgia Tech. This achievement is a testament to Belle's unwavering commitment to success, even when facing academic challenges. Her STEM skills are exceptional, encompassing everything from data analysis to abstract conceptualization. One aspect of Belle that needs to be stressed is that her success has always come along with an extensive involvement in extracurricular activities and community service. She is a talented 3-sport athlete and served in a variety of leadership roles in various student organizations. Belle's responsibilities included coordinating the student tutoring program, assuming a leadership position in the campus dorms, and serving as the President of the Discipline Committee. The latter role entails handling major conduct violations, a task that demands maturity, thoughtfulness, and a high level of respect among peers and faculty. Belle has consistently demonstrated these qualities in her leadership roles and it made her a highly respected figure in our school community. Belle Brooks is a multifaceted individual whose accomplishments and attributes cannot be adequately summarized in a one-page letter. She is unquestionably well-prepared for her college journey at Georgia Tech and possesses all the qualities necessary for a successful and impactful future. I strongly endorse Belle Brooks as a candidate for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. Her dedication, intelligence, and leadership qualities make her a deserving recipient, and I am confident that she will continue to excel in her academic and personal endeavors. Sincerely, Mike Hudson Science teacher and college advisor Darlington School Phone: (706) 266-1833 Email: mhudson@darlingtonschool.org
