I knew Belle for all four years of her high school career and had the pleasure of teaching her during her senior year in AP Calculus AB. She was an extremely hardworking student with great classroom habits. Belle always sat near the front of the classroom and really engaged with the material throughout the class. She often would ask great questions that showed that she was really striving to understand the material. When Belle struggled with an idea, she wouldn’t hesitate to use our office hours to gain a better understanding. It was not surprising to see her earn a 5 on the AP test last year. Belle was more than a great student, she was engaged in every aspect of our school life. She was a multi-sport athlete, a leader in our dorms and a member of our discipline committee. By her senior year, she was selected by her peers to be the president of the discipline committee. In this role, she had to chair meetings to determine the consequences for students getting into trouble at our school. She was also selected by the adult dorm leaders to be the day leader of her assigned dorm. This is a role that is highly selective and only our best students have the opportunity to do. She truly is a great all around student. It was not surprising for me to hear that Belle is off to a great start and college and you cannot go wrong by selecting Belle for this scholarship!
