The purpose of this letter is to recommend to you Keyon Charles as a worthy recipient of your scholarship. Keyon has grown in and served the Kell High School Band program tremendously over the course of his high school career, and I look forward to watching him continue to develop at the collegiate level. Keyon has, throughout his high school career, been a positive and hard-working member of the Kell Band program. During his time at Kell, he has constantly had a smile on his face and interacted positively with his peers. Through hard work and striving to excel beyond the baseline expectation in his band classes, Keyon has grown from a tentative young player in need of frequent support to a capable performer able to assist peers in their own journeys. He has been a part of the marching band all four years of his tenure – devoting a substantial amount of time and energy outside of his curricular studies – and has often chosen to participate in other community events the band hosts. I am exceptionally proud of the maturation I have seen in him both as a person and as a musician, and I believe that he is a worthy recipient for your scholarship. Please feel free to contact me either by phone (678.717.9386) or by email (taylor.watts@cobbk12.org); I would be more than happy to discuss Keyon further.
