To whom it may concern: I am more than happy to recommend Pete Millians for the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. I am currently President for the National Society of Leadership & Success, a leadership-based honor society that Pete is a part of, and have been able to work with Pete over the past few months. Throughout my time working with Pete, I have been able to see his passion for the organizations he is involved with and his academics. He is currently a member of Mercer’s Engineering Honors Program – only about 20-25 students are selected to be a candidate for this competitive program based on their academic history. Throughout this program, he has already begun to work on projects involving software and tools that will allow him to get a head start on his academic and engineering career. Soon, he will begin working with Mercer professors on the Go Baby Go project where engineering students help modify toy cars for children who have a disability for a local hospital and allows the kids to move independently. He has shown strong interest in how he can get involved within the engineering department by attending events that introduce him to concepts and getting to know upperclassmen who can mentor him. He is a diligent student who is thinking about his future and is excited to engage with the opportunities that Mercer offers for engineering students. This dedication is also reflected in his philanthropic work. Although he just started Mercer, he has shown interest in helping the Macon community around Mercer. He participated in Mercer’s annual service event, Be A GoodNeighBear, where he was able to partner with Rebuilding Macon and spent the day painting a house to help someone in need. While at Mercer, he has joined organizations, such as the Club Soccer Team, where he has show passion for his interests. He is now a member of the team and has been able to get involved so early in his college career. I have full confidence that Pete Millians is a strong candidate for your scholarship. His dedication and perseverance leave me with no doubt that he will accomplish great things during his time at Mercer, especially within the Engineering Honors Program. I believe he would be a fantastic representative for your scholarship program. Please feel free to contact me at (813) 210-4907 or michelle@ferlita.com if you have any questions. I’d be more than happy to discuss more about Pete’s deservingness of this scholarship. Best, Michelle Ferlita
