To the Scholarship Committee of the Georgia Engineering Foundation, It is with great pleasure that I recommend Asia Douglas as a potential recipient of the Georgia Engineering Foundation Scholarship. During a time when even many of our most gifted students struggled to stay focused on academic goals, Asia met each challenge head on. The COVID pandemic and virtual learning did not deter her from reaching her goals. She proved her determination and adaptability to change. These character traits are ingrained in her and are driving forces to her continued success not only as an academia, but also as she enters her future as an engineer. Asia has proven herself to be a well-rounded responsible and respectful individual who is not only active within her school, but also in her community. While attending high school, she participated in the Hans on Atlanta Discovery Program as a Grade Captain for 3 consecutive years. In addition, she also worked with Open Hand Meals Packing for one year. Now, as a college student at Kennesaw State University, she is active the Society of Black Engineers, Kennesaw Dream Foundation and Kennesaw Journey Honors Program. I have had the pleasure of working with many other gifted students, but none as driven as Asia. She would be an excellent representative for your organization and make you proud. Thank you for considering Asia for your scholarship. Respectfully Submitted, Mrs. Nancy Connew-Agyepong AP Calculus Instructor and Mu Alpha Theta Co-Sponsor Rockdale County High School
