September 27, 2021 RE: Vincent Nguyen Dear Sir/Madam: Please accept this letter of recommendation on behalf of Vincent Nguyen, an applicant for the Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarship program. Vincent Nguyen is a wonderful young man whom I came to know as a student in my AP Environmental Science class at the Savannah Arts Academy (SAA). A strong demand is placed on the individual within the SAA school setting to make the most of the opportunities presented. In addition to successfully performing in an Honors and Advanced Placement academic environment, Vincent maintained a music focus as a Band Major during his time at SAA. Vincent is a very unique student with many interests. He maintained an excellent academic record at SAA and excelled within an extremely rigorous curriculum while balancing varsity athletics and extracurricular activities. Vincent is a student who genuinely enjoys facing challenges. He believes that challenging himself is the best way to grow intellectually and he is okay with making a mistake because he feels that mistakes stimulate a student’s academic growth. Vincent knew he wanted to study engineering in college. For this reason, he actively searched for and participated in extracurricular opportunities that would allow him to grow and expand his engineering studies while in high school. Vincent was accepted to the Savannah Science Seminar, an exclusive program for area high school juniors. His selection to the highly competitive program distinguished him as one of the area’s outstanding students in science. Vincent also participated in the Savannah Engineering Academy, a summer program for high students that provided exposure to different engineering fields of study lead by professional engineers in their respective fields. Vincent has demonstrated his leadership capabilities both in and outside the classroom. He was the Vice President of the SAA Beta Club, he held leadership roles in his church youth organization, and he led students in the classroom as a team leader for several lab activities. Vincent is very talented and motivated student. His strengths are numerous. It is with great pleasure and without reservation that I recommend Vincent Nguyen for the Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarship program. Sincerely, Dana W.
