To Whom It May Concern: Asia Douglas was a student in my Pre-Calculus class during her junior year. Since the course is considered a senior course, she was expected to rise to the expectation. Asia worked diligently throughout the year, focused on her work and her learning. If she struggled, she found a way to push through the material or asked for assistance when needed. When communicating in groups, Asia would listen quietly to her peers. After she heard their opinions, she would add in her own, thinking carefully upon what everyone said. Her work was always completed neatly and with precision. She would show all her work and received redirection well. If I asked her to correct something, she would take my recommendations and correct her work appropriately. Outside of school, Asia assisted with an elementary program. She would motivate the students to push forward through various STEM subjects. She would also assist with their science program. This outside activity never affected her ability to complete work on time for Pre-Calculus. She would communicate well if she needed more time or would manage her time well enough to not need it. Asia has worked hard and has continued to work hard at the start of the pandemic for the end of my class. In the middle of second semester, a pandemic forced the rest of our class to spend time together virtually. This was an adjustment for everyone, but Asia proved that she could handle the change and still succeed. She continued to work hard and push through the virtual environment. I am proud of Asia and what she has had to overcome her junior year and through her senior year. Although she may have graduated from high school, she has not stopped her work ethic and has continued to work diligently to be successful. She has joined internship programs and keeps in contact with her teachers. She would be a great addition to any program. Sincerely, Cheryl Sikes Math Department Chair RCHS
