Dear Admissions Committee, It is a great pleasure to recommend John Hinson for admission to your college. I can say with confidence that John is one of the most caring and driven students I’ve ever taught in my fifteen years of teaching. As both his 11th and 12th grade History teacher, I’ve had the pleasure to see John excel in his AP Microeconomics and AP Government classes. I am not surprised to find out his class rank is high in a very competitive STEM Magnet Program. He has a keen interest in and talent for government and economics. His advanced skills and passion for the subjects make him an ideal fit for any rigorous academic program. John is hard-working, intelligent, and a collaborative individual with a high propensity for academics, athletics, and employment. In AP Microeconomics, he is a very inquisitive student that likes the challenge of working with others on project-based learning activities. Group activities give John the opportunity to display his management skills while ensuring high academic success for every member of his group. John’s tremendous work ethic can be seen as one of the leaders of the marching band at our high school. The marching band has been extremely successful over the last four years, and I believe John’s determination and attention to detail is one of the main reasons for the their success. Overall, John is a very well-rounded student willing to take risks which allows him to develop a wide variety of skills that will prepare him to meet any academic goal she wants to accomplish. As a member of the magnet program, John brings a diverse understanding of culture and civic duty to every activity he participates in. His natural leadership skills and understanding of diversity allow him to shine in challenging situations that require collaborate, motivation, and communication. John’s participation in in the magnet program and National Honors Society has given him the opportunity to give back to his local community with a variety of community service activities such as helping organize the Paulding County Fun Run for Healthcare Awareness. John is just the kind of driven, engaging, and understanding scholar that helps make our community a better place to live in. John has my highest recommendation for scholarship opportunities. He has demonstrated excellence in all that he puts her mind to, whether it’s organizing events, collaborating with others, or participating in the marching band. John’s endless curiosity, combined with his willingness to take risks, leads me to believe there will be no limit to his growth and achievements in college and future endeavors. Sincerely, Mr. Brock STEM Magnet Program and Social Studies Teacher Paulding County High School
