Georgia Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE) is the leading state organization that promotes the engineering profession to protect public health, safety and welfare. GSPE includes engineering professionals from all disciplines and promotes the ethical and competent practice of engineering, advocates licensure, and enhances the image and well-being of its members. The late Mrs. Doris Lavoie, wife of Mr. George Lavoie, PE, was an active leader in the GSPE Auxiliary until her death in 1984. She was President of the Sandy Springs Auxiliary in 1981-82, the Georgia State Auxiliary President in 1975-76 and Southeastern Region Chairperson in 1976-77. Mrs. Lavoie led the ladies of the auxiliary as they diligently raised the money that became the GSPE Auxiliary Fund that now carries her name.
