Dear Scholarship Committee: It is a great pleasure and honor to write personal letter of reference for Catherine Mirocha as an accompaniment to her application for the Georgia Engineering Foundation scholarship. I have known Catherine on a personal level for well over a decade, and I can attest to the zestfulness in which she pursues her ambitions. During any encounter with Catherine, one characteristic that stands out immediately is her inquisitiveness. Her desire to understand the “who, what, when, how and why” is on display through the questions she asks. Not one to take the simple answer, Catherine will keep digging until her curiosity is fully satisfied. Knowing this, it was not surprising to see her pursing a degree in Biomedical Engineering. As a high school student, Catherine juggled a rigorous academic schedule, including Dual Enrollment, with cheerleading, working, volunteering and leading. I witnessed her taking underclassmen under her wing, either through tutoring or mentoring, and helping others achieve success. As a 2020 graduate, she demonstrated emotional and social intelligence while delivering the class inspiration speech at her Baccalaureate ceremony. Catherine is a well-rounded young woman with extreme potential. Her foundation is solid, and due to her inherent desire to succeed, she will work strategically and diligently to accomplish her goals.
