September 7, 2021 Dear Review Committee, It is with great pleasure and honor that I write this letter of recommendation for Christian “Van” Nipper. I have known Van since he entered middle school and became a part of my science class. Over the last five years, I have been his teacher, his science fair sponsor, and his STEM facilitator from the district level. Van has proven himself time and again to be an exemplary student, both in the classroom and throughout his involvement in multiple extracurricular activities. He has not only been a part of various activities (such as band, academic team, and TSA), but he has also filled a leadership role in those organizations as well. During the time that I have known Van, I have been able to observe specific qualities that I believe make him an exceptional young man. His academic record speaks for itself, but the modesty that he displays in the light of his achievements is phenomenal! He possesses something that I have found in very few of the gifted students I have ever taught – he has an incredible mind combined with unending motivation and a serious sense of compassion for helping others around him. I have personally witnessed this many times from him over the years, and I believe it is also evident in the many volunteer activities he has been involved in through his church and through the band program. Please accept this letter as a formal letter of recommendation in support of Christian Van Nipper’s application. I can truthfully state that he is a deserving candidate that you will be proud to have as an example of your ideal scholarship winner. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to speak with me in more detail about why Van deserves consideration for this award. Feel free to call me at 770-787-1330 (ext. 1300) or contact me via email at meeler.vicki@newton.k12.ga.us. Sincerely, Vicki Meeler, PhD Newton County Schools Secondary Science Curriculum & Instruction Specialist
