The Savannah Engineering Academy fosters engineering development through hands-on engagement, academic guidance, and professional interaction. Through structured programs and enrichment opportunities, the Savannah Engineering Academy strives to cultivate future generations of engineers from the Savannah community. The Academy offers a five-day summer STEM camp in Savannah, Georgia for rising high school juniors and seniors who are considering careers in engineering. Each day of the program, students learn about different engineering disciplines, participate in hands-on engineering challenges, go on field trips, and meet local engineers who represent an array of different engineering career options available to them. The Savannah Engineering Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by local volunteers who are engineers working as professionals in the local area. In 2016, the Savannah Engineering Academy began offering college scholarships to past participants of the Academy who are accepted and enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering programs. There will be two $1500 scholarships awarded to one male and one female respectively.
